Although all women have some degree of asymmetry between their breasts, significant differences between our breast size and shape can cause us discomfort and hurt our self-esteem. Congenital anomaly, injuries such as burns, and changes following breastfeeding can all cause noticeable breast asymmetry. Your breast asymmetry procedure will take between one and four hours, and you will most likely be able to go home the same day. To ensure your comfort during the procedure, a board-certified anesthesiologist will administer general anesthesia. Dr. Grunwald will have a detailed consultation with you before your surgery to discuss your goals and the particulars of the breast asymmetry surgery.
